About
I am a second year Masters student at UC San Diego, where I am studying Computer Science with a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence. I am working with Dr. Debashis Sahoo on segmentation algorithms for colorectal cancer diagnosis.
I completed my Bachelor’s Degree (B.Tech) with Honors in Computer Engineering at the College of Engineering Pune, India, in 2020. I was felicitated as the Computer Engineering department Gold Medallist and ranked 1st in the Institute among 750+ students at commencement.
I am passionate about Deep Learning and have undertaken multiple research internships focused on its application to Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision systems. In particular, my project on Ranking Hindi Documents using Deep Learning bolstered my interest in the application of NLP to regional languages.
Outside of work, I am a history, geography, political science, paperbacks, and Indian culture enthusiast who has recently discovered her fondness for yoga and hiking.

- Collaborating to develop intelligent NLP-based applications like road trip planner, concierge services, and parenting assistant bots for the Natural.ai generative interface app.
- Fine-tuning LLMs like GPT3 in the backend and implementing prompt engineering techniques like chain of thought, few-shot, and zero-shot learning for NLP sub-tasks.
- Led the AI team to develop end-to-end systems for data mining and data analytics applications. Utilised tools like BigQuery, Google Data Studio, siren.io, and KNIME to preprocess, visualise, and train machine learning models on the data.
- Designed supervised and unsupervised models in Python for event extraction from textual data.
- Developed and deployed a chatbot to handle customer orders, perform spellcheck and process quantities, and generate bills
- Employed various NLP techniques for the task
- Surveyed the latest advancements in Automatic Text Scoring Systems and developed own model using a novel hybrid Siamese Bi-LSTM network. Published the research and the results at IEEE TALE 2019
- Studied and reviewed libraries like SpaCy for creation of language models. Implemented Natural Language Processing models and libraries for Indian regional languages. Presented and published a research paper at the Springer IBICA-WICT 2018
